CREATIVE COGS - WHAT'S THAT?!
Creative Cogs is the concept of Anji Kreft. She wanted to have one space & one name for the various programmes she's devised specifically for members of NZ's senior community. Throughout the years, aside from her media career, she's been involved in designing, writing, producing & facilitating programmes for various members of our community. She's loving watching the joy Creative Cogs is bringing to others!
WHAT SENIOR PROGRAMMES?
Currently, there are 3 programmes available. Those are:

CREATIVE COGS PROGRAMME
The Creative Cogs group assists senior participants with retaining cognitive health by providing the opportunity to participate in creative thinking & sharing. It's a safe space for participants to use imagination, memories, role play, music & storytelling to keep minds active & engaged. The sessions are crammed with fun, play & social connections!
WELLINGTON: Johnsonville Community Centre. Thursdays. 10.30am to 12pm.

SENIOR SINGSTERS!
Senior Singsters provides a fun, joyous opportunity for participants to sing classic Pop songs together (1950s onwards) with established backing tracks as accompaniment. In addition, there's the opportunity to learn how to harmonise and to gain some basic performance skills.
The focus of this programme is the wonderful benefit of individuals coming together to sing familiar songs! Positive feelings of ‘togetherness’ and the release of endorphins results in reduced stress and depression.

MY LIFE, MY MUSIC
My Life, My Music is a four – part, therapeutic song writing programme that Anji originally developed and began facilitating in 2007 for the Department of Corrections, followed by Oranga Tamariki, Women’s Centre etc. This programme, combined with Anji’s facilitation and music composition skills has continued to provide a motivational, creative outlet of expression for a wide variety of individuals from age 10 to 90!
